I had full intentions of sharing this post with you on a crisp fall day, golden sun streaming through the many varied hues of leaves in our gorgeous river valley. Instead we are sharing it on a day with a few centimeters of snow on the ground. Though unexpected (and much maligned) we can use this opportunity to think warm and cozy thoughts, so grab a cup of cocoa as we share with you the joys of our fall/winter collection photo shoot.

I think when it comes to each of us and our idea of health, the vision becomes something different in everyone’s eyes. For some, fitness is a passion. And to others, it’s all we can do to take the stairs to the 4th floor at the office. But, both are okay.

The LUX ladies are experts in so many things (I mean, have you seen Danielle’s eyebrows?), and self-care is one of them. I canvassed the group to find out what they do when they’re stressed, and not surprisingly, they had a wealth of tips to share.

"...I realized that I hadn’t yet thought about what I should do in terms of hair, makeup, or outfits. Crap. What exactly is this 'moody boudoir' concept again? Do I remember how to blow-out my hair? Do I need to buy any new outfits? Can I even do that, after the barrage of holiday expenses?"

I think of beauty as a way to enhance what you already have. Since I've been doing burlesque, my beauty routine is still very simple but with more glamour. Whenever I go out, I feel like it’s a reflection of who I am for the day...and my beauty routine is a big part that.

It's impossible to escape the fact that we tie our identities to our hair styles. Our hair speaks as much about us as our fashion choices. Are you cool and laid back like your natural beachy waves? Are you classic and chic like your long, straight locks?
