LUX Walking Tours: 124 st.

Posted by Marielle T on

With the summer season officially here, we have even more time (or at least daylight) to indulge in one of our favourite pastimes: walking. Exploring Edmonton on foot is such a joyous way to see and experience in the vibrant communities throughout the city.

Kirsta, the 124 st. Grand Market Director, knows exactly how important it is to cultivate community in neighbourhoods with her hard work running not one, but two local markets! And so who better to help give the first of our LUX Walking Tours for the summer by sharing her must-visit places in our neighbourhood!

SHOP

Salgado Fenwick "For their stellar pour overs and sweet animal prints and wears. Also they stock a vast number of locally made products and trinkets."

Studio Bloom "An incredibly charming floral shop, spectacular blooms and one of a kind giftware. Also the company is great, the owner Rosella is a true champion for 124 Street and a big supporter of our Little Beans Program."

Red Ribbon "They have eclectic and funky wears that is appropriate for all occasions and ages, not to mention it's very carefully curated both in lines they carry and layout of the shop. I'm in there at least once a week! Rachelle has an eye for style!"

DINE

El Mariachi "I love my Mexican fare and they bring in a lot of special stuff (snacks, salsas, fresh tortillas, ect.) that I can usually only find in Mexico! They also just opened a restaurant portion next door with a very authentic menu."

Canteen "Some of the best eats and cocktails in town. They have a rotating menu that truly supports local farmers and vendors. Simply put, Canteen is quality high-end eats set in an unpretentious and casual atmosphere."

Daravara "It's loud, it's got tasty pub grub, cool vibe for all ages. Big garage door patio so I can hang out with my dog while I drink a cold bevy in the sun and the tunes are always on point!"

 LUX Honorable Mention

Plum Home Design:"A must-stop shop on the way to Duchess for any LUX lady is Plum Home Shop. We simply can't resist their impeccably curated Parisian vintage home-goods, sparkling jewelry, card wall and adorable baby gifts"
