The LUX To Do List: August

Posted by Marielle T on

Summer is far and away the most palpable season, leaving you with memories that can be felt from your head all the way down to your perfectly pedicured toes. Sticky fingers from K-Days cotton candy, the staccato bumps on the edge of a diving board, and the late night hum of a city sitting on patios. It’s no wonder we long for these summer days all year long.

So drink it all in, lay back and revel in summer fever while it’s here!

Up In The Sky: Take in a sight at such great heights at the Edmonton Airshow, guaranteed to be packed with loop-de-loops, flips and countless death-defying stunts! Find out more here.

Dinner al Fresco: Enjoy dinner with the grazing buffalo at Elk Island Park for a family-style menu served high on a knoll overlooking the lake. Find out more here

All Aged Fun: Climb into your PJ's and head out for a beautiful night of star gazing during the Perseid meteor shower at the Devonian Gardens. Bring your own blankets and flashlights and cozy up for a night with the stars. Find out more here

Sound of Music: Whether you’re a fan of Simon & Garfunkel or the music of Hollywood, you won’t want to miss Symphony Under the Sky as they fill Hawrelak Park with music to watch the sunset. Find out more here

Last Chance Childhood: Embrace the thrill of waterslides one last time at Sylvan Lake, as the Wild Rapid's Waterpark is closing at the end of this summer. Find out more here

The Standbys: Join in the three must-do activities of the summer and take in a Fringe Play (bonus points for eating a green onion cake), stretch out at Gallagher Park for Folkfest on closing night, and spend a day lounging at Queen E or Mill Creek Pool. They’re #YEG summer classics for a reason!
