If you find yourself shedding your winter layers in favour of lighter spring clothes, you’re not alone. Everyday it seems like our High Street neighbours are unpacking lovely spring and summer collections that’ll make you want to reinvent yourself from head to toe. Or in the case of this weeks post, from hand to toe!
This week we’ve felt so energized with the preview of warm weather, we wanted to focus on the hottest nail trends of the season.
Bare All
Gracing the runways for the past few seasons has been the “no-makeup” makeup look, and now the trend has carried all the way down to your nails. If you’re not quite ready to bare all or simply can’t jump from Oxblood to nude, the Deborah Lippmann Spring Collection is for you. The collection entitled “Whisper” focuses on soft, understated and elegant colours (two of which are pictured above: Chantilly lace and Misty Morning) for that nearly nude look.
Orange You Glad
Coral has always held it’s place as a summer classic, but this year, the vibrancy of this orangey-red blend, has been turned up, featuring bright orange tips as on trend for the summer months. We are smitten with Jin Soon Orange Pop, and their bold Spring line (which was just raved about on Harpers Bazaar) for that full coverage show stopping look.
Metal Meets
The spring runway shows also kick-started a new trend in nail art: The Negative Space Mani. Instead of a full total polish look, colour blocking with negative space (i.e. leaving half the nail naked) was a huge trend especially when paired with statement silver or any other member of the metal family. And if you really want to push the envelope, the subtle juxtaposition between a metal polish and a satin or matte topcoat gives you an even edgier effect!
