LUX To-Do List: April

Posted by Marielle T on

Today’s snowfall feels a bit like an April Fool’s day joke, but at LUX we are optimistically looking past the wind & mess. This month brings a terrific selection of lively local events. To us, April means spring dresses, Easter candy, and of course, celebrating our (15th!) birthday!

So drink a lemonade, dream of warmer weather, and plan out your April with our monthly To-Do List!

Live LUX

Shop Local: The High Street area has been chosen for this months CashMob, which means all the stores, including LUX will have a few extra treats for you this weekend. Find out full event details here.

Blow Out The Candles: LUX is turning 15 with a Garden Party themed bash on April 18. This is THE LUX event of the year and you don’t want to miss it! Fabulous party favours include spin the wheel, swag bags, and gift baskets to be won. We’ll also be joined by the lovely Janis from Dress Me Dearly. Planning to dress up for it? Follow our Pinterest board for some great inspiration.

Embrace Your Inner Child

Saturday Morning Perfection: Metro Cinema is hosting their biannual All-You-Can-Eat Cereal and Cartoon morning on April 4. The cartoons are all from the 80’s and 90’s with their original PSA’s. Pyjamas are encouraged. Find out more here.

Hop To It: The Muttart Conservatory will be hosting an Easter Egg hunt throughout the pyramids complete with face painting on April 5. Whether you have kids, or are just a kid at heart, it’s the perfect post-brunch way to spend your Easter. Find out more here.

Art Inspired

Sparks of Comedy: Bonfire Festival, is Rapid Fire Theatre’s Long-Form Improv festival running from April 7 -11, featuring shows ranging from an R-rated children’s show to a John Hughes-themed show. Find out more here.

Instep with Art: Celebrate the amazing art galleries that call 124 street home during the spring Gallery Walk. Pick up a coffee from Credo, and then stroll down the street, taking in some art and (fingers crossed) a little sunshine. Find out more here.
