Holiday Handbags

Posted by Marielle T on

It’s easy to feel like one of Santa’s elves this time of year. We are being pulled in all directions;  gift shopping, holiday parties, family commitment and more. As a result, your handbag becomes less of an accessory and more of a survival kit.

When packing for a night out, channel your inner Girl Guide and embrace that “always be prepared” mentality. Thankfully most of our favourite beauty products come in oh-so-adorable mini sizes making it easy to be ready for any beauty emergency. This week we’ve broken down three different occasions and their handbag essentials to ensure you look your best, no matter the situation.

We won’t even mention the added bonus of getting to drool over the gorgeous handbags and accessories from Red Ribbon and Miss Boss. We’ll just take one of everything. Tis the season after all….

DANCING TILL DAWN

Pop the Champagne! This Red Ribbon handbag is packed with essentials for dancing all night and keeping you looking fabulous while doing it! Bust a move and strike a pose, we’ve got you covered.

Pre-Game: Ensure your skin is a smooth canvas for your party look with the Maskeraide Pre-Party Prep mask.

Glowing > Greasy: Positively sparkle under the lights with Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadow and this gorgeous necklace from Red Ribbon. Fight excess shine and keep your cool with blotting papers from 100% Pure and La Fresh peppermint  wipes

Making It Last: A compact, a couple of bobbi-pins and your favourite lipstick are all you need to keep your look pulled together all night long. We love Lipstick Queen's 'Anger' for that sought after red-lip.

DATE NIGHT

It may not be Valentines Day, but all the sparkling lights, fur-clad apparel and mistletoe have us feeling pretty romantic. Planning a big date night? This Miss Boss handbag will have you set for hand holding, locking lips and turning heads.

Perfect Pucker: Planning on standing under the mistletoe? Start off by softening any chapped lips with Sarah Happ Lip Scrub, before putting on a tinted Lip Conditioner from Ilia. Oh, and don't forget to brush your teeth! Marvis Toothpaste is perfect for fresh breath that lasts.

Skin to Skin: Never worry about a skin emergency with a couple of simple essentials: rich Royal Apothic Hand Creme, Indie Lee Blemish Stick and, to keep you smelling fresh, Lollia purse-sized Eau De Parfum

The Details: Show off with a bit of sparkle for your night out. We love Deborah Lippmann's glitter polish as well as dabbing a little Kevyn Aucoin Loose Shimmer shadow in the corner of our eyes to really shine. Pair that with a couple of beautiful bracelets from Miss Boss and you're all set to steal a few hearts.

OUT ALL NIGHT

It starts off as a simple get together at a BFF’s place and after a few (and then a few more) glasses of wine you find yourself spending the night. Not to worry, you’ll have everything in this Red Ribbon handbag you'll need to look pulled together the next morning at brunch.

The Planned Night Out: It's always a kind gesture to bring your host a small gift, which is why we always pick up a few extra Voluspa candles. They make the perfect last minute gift and are available in beautiful holiday scents.

The Impromptu Slumber Party: Use a teasing brush and a dab of Preta-Powder as the solution to second day hair, and there's nothing that a little RMS Luminizer and Rouge Bunny Rouge Under Eye Concealer can't fix, especially when paired with Caudalie Beauty Elixir for an all over well-rested glow. Bonus points if you remember to take of yesterdays make up with a La Fresh makeup remover wipe and put on fresh deodorant (like the purse friendly MBeze).
