This month we asked Poppy Barley Made-to-Measure Footwear co-founder to give us the low-down on her everyday routine, can’t-live-withouts, and the secrets to staying on top of trends.
When did you first discover LUX?
I walked into LUX when you were in your original 124th Street location. Immediately, I loved the focus on hard-to-find products.
Between Poppy Barley and your blog, you are one busy lady. What is your beauty routine on the go?
I’m all about skincare. I start by washing my face with REN Rose Centifolia Cleanser, then apply Boscia Tsubaki Beauty Oil, followed by Tata Harper Repairative Moisturizer. At night, I use Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution. During the day, I always use a primer with an SPF before applying Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I use multi-stick ILIA I Put a Spell on You for my cheeks, lips and eye. I like Diorshow mascara. I always finish with Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray.
You’re also long distance runner. How does hair styling fit in to your overloaded days?
I use Bumble and bumble Dryspun Finish to really mess up my hair – and just roll with it.
With your time filled running your business, you don’t need to spend energy second-guessing your cosmetics. Which products do you rely on?
Organic Goe Oil is my go-to body moisturizer. REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask is a miracle worker! I love bold-hued lipsticks – bright orange, red, pinks, burgundy – every color!
What Spring trends are you looking forward to trying?
I’m most excited by glowing, au natural skin with berry stained lips. I’m also loving the return of gold eye shadow.
How does your personal style change with the seasons?
During cold months, I love jeans with boots and cashmere sweaters. Come summer, I’m in to really easy pieces like jumpers or dresses with delicate jewellery.
Will beauty trends play in to the spring collection at Poppy Barley?
We have a shoe version of the bright orange lip – and many more surprises to come!
