LUX Autumn Style Guide

No one could miss how beautiful our river valley is in the fall, but that's not the only thing we're excited about. The return of chillier weather means longer hemlines, thicker, soft and cozy fabrics and the return of oxblood lipstick. And this year it also gives us the chance to introduce #YEG playwright Ellen Chorley. So settle in with a pumpkin spice latte and check out her rocking some of our favourite looks for fall.

Work Day Staples: Classics + A Little Sparkle

As grey and dreary as the weather may have been over the past two weeks, thankfully statement sparkle is still on trend. We loved how the necklace compliments the simple shift dress accented with a pattern belt. The look is from Shades of Grey.

In this look Ellen (still wearing over-the-top glam jewellery from Shades of Grey), keeps it simple a loose dress with a similar drape as the kimonos from summer. Perfect for going from a day at the office to drinks with friends.

And speaking of perfect, Ellen is wearing Lipstick Queen Cupid's Bow in various shades as well as Jin Soon's Tila nail polish.

CATCHING UP // STAYING COZY

Perhaps the warmest welcome to the fall is pulling on a cozy cashmere sweater and melting into its luxurious softness. This flecked cashmere sweater from Red Ribbon is the perfect fall staple for anyone dreading leaving their bed on chilly mornings. Paired with a dark wash jean you can add a pop of colour with a bright (or plaid or both) scarf.

We really feel in love with not just the larger statement necklaces but also these understated engraved keys from Red Ribbon and the fabulous shades from Shades of Grey.

5 Minutes with Ellen

The ever joyous Ellen Chorley kindly agreed to show of her beautiful smile in the LUX Fall Style Guide. When not giggling Ellen is working on writing a burlesque, 'Send in the Girls: Bust 'em Up' for the 2015-2016 season of 'Beyond the Stage' in the Citadel Club. Be sure to check out more info about it here.
