The LUX To Do List: September

Posted by Marielle T on

The bite of autumn is slipping into the morning air so subtly you may have missed the seasons starting to change. The river valley will soon be set ablaze as the leaves change for one final brilliant burst of colour. And just like the rest of the season, heavy with the abundance of a nearly gone summer, September is still packed with the last outdoor events for the year.

So please enjoy our September To-Do list and make the most of our ever fleeting fall!

Get Outta Town

Retro Date Night: Promising to bring back drive-in movies to Alberta, Silver Spur Theatre finally has a home in Thorsby, Alberta. Take advantage of this adorable way to take in a blockbuster and don't forget to bring money for snacks and popcorn.

A'Maiz'ing: While it's only a short drive out of Edmonton, you'll feel miles away in Edmonton's Corn Maze. Perfect for a family outing or a first date, wander the rows and let yourself get lost in the tall rustling stalks. Find out more here

Front Row Tickets

Symphony in the City: Edmonton Symphony Orchestra will be accompanying the classic Disney film 'Fantasia' in Churchill Square for free. Bring your own chair and take in this beautiful orchestral piece in the mid-fall night air. Find out more here

Metro Mania: The Metro Cinema has really out-done themselves with this months schedule including two especially noteworthy events (and we're not talking about All-You-Can-Cereal-Party, which is also on). The BlueRevue is a racy adult-only film festival hosted by Jon Mick and Paul Blinov guaranteed to be one hilarious albeit cringe-worthy night. Also happening in September is their first ever run ghost tour around the 75 yr-old theatre. Find out more here

Fun for the Family

Food For All: Surrounded by picky eaters who can't all agree on dinner? Don't miss the last 'What The Truck' event of the 2015 season taking place in Churchill Square. Be sure to bring your appetite as there will be 35+ trucks in attendance. Find out more here.

Crafty Consumer: On The Spot Pop Up is hosting an Etsy 'Made In Canada' event at Latitude 53. Be sure to stop in and check out over 45 local vendors and see all the talent we have right in #YEG. Find out more here
