LUX Summer Style Guide: Dress to Impress

Posted by Marielle T on

Every once in a while we blog about something so fun we simply can't condense it into a single post. That's exactly how we felt about this LUX Style Guide.

In our first edition we focused on casual, running-about-town looks, but today we're all about dressing to kill. Whether you're attending a wedding, graduation, or a ladies night out, we're all about turning heads. These looks pulled from our High Street favourites, Floc Boutique and Shades of Grey, are the perfect mix of formal, edgy and on trend.

We're smitten with the contrasting bold jewel tones against the feminine touches of lace, draped fabrics and sparkly accessories. Not to mention formal occasions are the perfect excuse to shake up your make-up with bright eye-catching hues that shout 'summer is here'!

HOT PINK LIPS DON'T CARE

Christine is wearing one of the biggest trends this summer: a statement kimono. Paired flawlessly with a simple black shift dress and pendant necklace, this look is effortless and perfect for any business casual occasional. As a bonus, all three pieces can separated and easily be worked into your everyday wardrobe. Kick up the look with a bold and daring lip, like 'Neon Angel' from Ilia. This outfit was pulled from Shades of Grey Boutique

DARE TO STAND OUT

This ballerina dress is darling but not overly feminine. The cobalt blue fabric pops against all skin tones, and just add a statement necklace and voila, you're ready for any summer party! Play with contrasting colours when selecting your cosmetics to really play up the dress. Counter the bold blue with some orange hues. This outfit was pulled from Floc Boutique

SAUCY & SHOW STOPPING

At LUX we are constantly encouraging our clients to try to be bold, and push their comfort limits with their looks. This outfit perfectly represents that ideal balance by blending that bold pop with a subdued finish. Christine epitomized that wow factor with high contrast colors mixed with the softer fabrics of the back lace detailing and sheer overlay on the skirt. The silhouette may be traditional but with the subtly revealing back the outfit pushes boundaries of the predictable. This look was pulled from Floc Boutique.
